Brittany Mitchell-Kelley:
President
She/Her

Brittany Mitchell is a professional educator, who has spent over a decade working with youth of all backgrounds, abilities, and ages through different schools and non-profit organizations in Detroit. Her own experience navigating through barriers as a special education student with multiple (dis)abilities inspired her career choice and teaching philosophy.

She graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelors in Elementary Education and Masters in Social Work with a concentration in Innovation, Community, Policy, and Leadership.

Her background in special education, entrepreneurship, curriculum development, community organizing, and managing educational programming drives her passion to give students a holistic approach and access to existing barriers in their education.   She believes that all students have the right to optimal learning environments where they can take pride in their achievements and that their accomplishments can amount to anything they desire. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering with local community nonprofit organizations and will often coordinate service learning opportunities for students to give back to their communities.
