Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeast Michigan: 2025 Therapeutic Mentorship Workshop

Participants will dive nose-first into the world of scent. They’ll discover how our sense of smell is closely tied to memory and emotion, exploring the science behind why smells trigger powerful feelings. Next, they will get creative in the lab by formulating their own scented spray using safe, everyday ingredients. Then they’ll switch into entrepreneur mode to design a custom logo, and create a label that reflects their personal style. Along the way, they’ll learn the basics of product development, marketing, and visual design. This workshop blends chemistry, creativity, and entrepreneurship, while empowering youth to express themselves, connect with mentors, and share stories inspired by scent.
