Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeast Michigan: 2025 Therapeutic Mentorship Workshop 5

Participants will become entrepreneurs as they design and prototype their very own fidget toys using repurposed, everyday materials. With empathy as their starting point and design thinking as their guide, they will brainstorm, build, test, and refine unique fidget tools designed to help themselves or someone they care about manage stress, focus, and feel supported. Along the way, they will explore how mistakes are not setbacks but setups for stronger, smarter solutions. Through trial and imagination, they will learn how to “fail forward” and use emotional awareness and resilience to reframe frustration into innovation. Each participant will leave with a one-of-a-kind fidget and the mindset to build a better world, one redesign at a time.
